The journey will take seven months to complete covering a minimum
distance of 3,800
km across three states - Western Australia, Northern Territory and
Queensland.
The expedition is divided into 7 major sections. At the end of each
section, Andrew
will be re-supplied with water, food and supplies.
Traveling west to east, the route will take him through the heart of the
Little Sandy
and Gibson Deserts' in Western Australia and across the northern fringe
of the Simpson
Desert in the Northern Territory as well as vast areas of pastoral
country.
Almost 1,400 kilometres (stages 2,3, 5) is through isolated, uninhabited
desert.
During these legs of the journey he will be guided by a compass bearing
as there
will be no roads or tracks to follow.
Along the way he will pass through and re-supply at Newman, Alice
Springs, Longreach
and Rockhampton.
